Publication: Attendance at pre-pregnancy care clinics for women with type 1 diabetes: A scoping review

This paper published in Diabetic Medicine in Nov 2022, looks at how patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes are limited from attending pre-pregnancy care. Several pregnancy complications can be reduced or even prevented by pre-pregnancy care. This work is trying to understand why patients encounter barriers trying to attend pre-pregnancy care, as this needs to be understood so these barriers can be reduced or removed in the future. It is an important paper for clinicians involved in pregnancy to read and understand to try make changes in their practice and advocate for changes system wide to help increase attendance to pre-pregnancy care.
