Diabetes Masterclass April 13th 2024

The Diabetes Technology Network Ireland are excited to extend an invitation to you for a Diabetes Masterclass scheduled for Saturday, April 13th, from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm at the Croí Heart and Stroke Centre in Galway.

Here’s a detailed agenda for the masterclass:

ECC in Galway City and Galway West by Dr. Tomas Griffin: Dr. Griffin will provide valuable insights into the challenges and successes of managing diabetes within our local community, offering perspectives on effective approaches and areas for improvement.

The Model of Care for the Diabetic Foot by Prof. Sean Dinneen: Prof. Dinneen will present the new model of care for diabetic foot management, emphasizing prevention, early intervention, and multidisciplinary collaboration to mitigate the risks associated with diabetic foot complications.

Management of Diabetes Kidney Disease by Dr. Niamh Kieran: Dr. Kieran will delve into the complexities of managing diabetes-related kidney disease, exploring cutting-edge treatments and strategies for optimizing patient outcomes.

Measure Success in ECC by Dr. Aisling O’Connor: Dr. O’Connor will share insights on effectively measuring success in diabetes care, discussing key performance indicators and metrics for evaluating the effectiveness of ECC interventions.

My Experience in Developing a Community Diabetology Service by Dr. Glynis Magee: Dr. Magee will offer first hand insights into the development and implementation of a community diabetology service, highlighting challenges, successes, and lessons learned along the way.

Following these informative sessions, there will be a Q&A session providing an opportunity for attendees to engage with the speakers and delve deeper into the topics discussed. The masterclass will conclude with a networking lunch, providing further opportunities for discussion and collaboration.
