This year’s documentary was created through a partnership between CÚRAM – Research Ireland Centre for Medical Devices at University of Galway, Ardán, and the Diabetes Collaborative Clinical Trial Network, showcasing how clinical trials drive innovation in healthcare.

Funded by the Health Research Board (HRB), the film offers a beautifully crafted and deeply emotional insight into the lives of its participants—including both the researchers and the individuals living with diabetes and heart disease who share their experiences of taking part in clinical trials. The documentary also features an original score composed by Elma Morris.

Following the screening, a panel discussion featured Karen and Faye Burke, Wendy Landers, Prof. Fidelma Dunne, Dr. Christine Newman, Prof. Matt Griffin, and filmmaker David Qualter, with Claire Riordan moderating. The conversation explored the filmmaking process, the role of storytelling in highlighting the impact of research, and practical insights into participating in clinical trials and engaging with researchers.

A warm thank you to all contributors, audience members, and volunteers who helped make the event both memorable and engaging, and to the Pálás and Galway City Council for their support.
