Tell us a little about yourself?
I am a Clinical Manager for Advocacy and Research in Diabetes Ireland. In this role I am responsible for all advocacy and research activities. Consecutively, I am is still involved in academic research as a Postdoctoral Researcher, University College Cork. Prior to joining Diabetes Ireland, I worked as a lecturer, psychologist, and diabetes educator. I also have type 1 diabetes and conducted PhD on access to insulin pump therapy by adults with type 1 diabetes in Ireland.
What’s the one thing you wish everyone knew about diabetes?
As living with diabetes can be very emotionally draining and burdensome, even the best treatment and technology will not help, if the mind and wellbeing are not cared for.
