Sharon Conway joined the HRB Diabetes Collaborative Clinical Trial Network in January 2025 as Network Programme Manager, bringing over a decade of experience in clinical research, project management, and programme coordination. With a robust background spanning healthcare, academic, and community sectors, Sharon has a proven track record in managing complex research programmes, securing and overseeing grant funding, and fostering strategic stakeholder engagement.
She holds a BSc in Health, Sport & Exercise Science, an MSc in Clinical Research as well as an MA in Health Education and Health Promotion. Sharon has successfully led and supported multi-site clinical trials and interdisciplinary research projects involving pharmaceutical, medical device, and behavioural interventions. Her portfolio includes key roles in major studies such as EMERGE, CONCEPTT, DALI, COMPASS, SYMPLICITY, and multiple dermatology trials.
With experience across diverse research environments and research methodologies, Sharon excels at aligning operational delivery with strategic research objectives, ensuring effective coordination, resource management, and impact-driven outcomes. She is also deeply committed to Community Engagement and Patient and Public Involvement (PPI), drawing from her work with the Community Engaged Scholars Programme in the USA and Ireland. In her role, she is focused on advancing the Network’s strategic objectives, strengthening research infrastructure, and ensuring meaningful engagement with diverse stakeholders across the diabetes research landscape. She is eager to bring her skills and insights to the HRB Diabetes Collaborative Clinical Trial Network.
